Self-actualization is a strenuous journey starting from realization of one’s identity; directed towards fulfilment and achievement of one’s absolute potential. Although this process is a solo trip inwards and each traveler has his own set of unique experiences yet it has many common threads. One who has experienced this journey to the core develops a keen understanding of its dynamics.

People often recognize and acknowledge a connection to something more than a sensory experience and a sense of transcendence in the universe. This feeling of being connected to someone bigger than the cosmic reality is generally referred to as spirituality. Spiritual awakening elucidates this association between the creator and created and makes humans ponder upon complex notions like the eventual existential reality. This ultimately connects the creator and created into a direct tangible bond. One who has experienced this bond for years, becomes used to living in a state of ‘presence’ at all times.

Ta’weel means figurative and phenomenological interpretation so as to become aware of the true reality of things. It is the ability to interpret the true meaning of things where visible facts are unable to see beyond what is present.

Islamic eschatology is the understanding of the end times or Ilm-ul-akhir-uz-zaman. Contrary to the western understanding of history, eschatology informs that history has a start and it will have an ending. It also explains the nature of that ending; events taking place in that ending and how to live individual and collective lives once the new reality unfolds in-front of a person.

Curiosity about the unknown and unfamiliar has always driven mankind towards unexplored destinations resulting in unexpected discoveries, both in the world and self. Wilderness and solitude opens up many hidden mysteries, both tangible and spiritual. Wilderness is the path to enlightenment. One who sees the reality unfold in its natural setting gets to know the true meaning of life.

Humans often tend to appreciate the literary beauty, the poetic eloquence and the theoretical ideologies but rare are those who follow the same to core and absorb those ideologies into action. Training and development of the self, identity, ego or character is essential for attaining self-actualization. There is a need for such instigators for training one’s mental faculties and developing the self to an exalted pedestal.

Individual perceptions and notions fade away with time but ideological followings by a group of people tend to create historical evolutions. Communities and cultures are developed over eons on the basis of conceptual ethics.
